My friend, Sam Pickard, designs stunning botanical printed textiles, wall coveringsand bespoke interior products. I first came across her work in 2007 when I was at Bath Spa University as the designer-in-residence (The residency was part of Crafts Council's Next Move award). I was blown away by her distinctive drawing style and attention to detail. Sam continues to show her work at 100% Design every year. Look out for her if you are visiting. Sam just won the Devon Guild's Summer Exhibition President Award. The insect prints have a personal resonance with me because both my parents are Entomologists.Congratulations Sam!!! Well deserved!

Ek Taar, means a single strand of thread in Hindi. This blog is an attempt to untangle interwoven, entangled masses of my thought strands and examine them at leisure. Strands of inspiration, travel, design, art, craft, poetry, fashion, textiles, architecture, diaspora, identity will be unpicked, unravelled & examined. Some will get woven back while others will perhaps be discarded for fresh ones.
Here's to inspired unpicking and unravelling!
